
I don’t know about you but to me, Christmas tis’ the season that as you walk through the door you can feel the warm inviting heat (well here where I am the heatwaves basically blast you into the house) and the spices enter your nose, I love it! Christmas food is all about spices and this recipe is just great for when you feel like a nice warm, spicy but sweet hit after dinner. I was surprised that when experimenting it only took me one try!
Please Note!: That for this recipe I used a cup that was 9.5cm high with a diameter of 8.5cm, so if your cup is quite low, I suggest halving the recipe.
Cooking Utensils
- Measuring spoons
- Microwave
- A cup
- A fork
Ingredients
- 4 tbsps of self-raising flour
- 2 tbsps of brown sugar
- 1 tbsp of ginger past
- 3 tbsps of milk
- 1 tbsp of golden syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- Additional cinnamon and nutmeg (optional)
- Caramel topping (optional)
- Ice-cream or heavy cream (optional
Method
- Combine flour, brown sugar and milk into your cup.
- Whisk with your fork until there are no remaining lumps.
- Add the ginger, golden syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Stir until everything is fully combined.
- Microwave the mixture for 1 minute.
- Take out of the microwave and dust with more cinnamon and nutmeg, drizzle with caramel and serve with ice-cream or heavy cream. (optional)
