Choc-weetbix slice

Hello again,

This is yet another of my favourite slice recipes. It is super sticky and chocolatey and is not too sweet.

Base:

Utensils:

  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula
  • 20 x 30 cm slice tray
  • Glass cup, round

Ingredients:

  • 3 Weet-Bix biscuits
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup self raising flour
  • 2 tbsps. cocoa
  • 150g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. vanilla essence

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line slice tray.
  2. Break up weet-bix and place into a medium mixing bowl with coconut and sugar. Add flour and cocoa and stir.
  3. Pour butter over dry ingredients and add vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Spoon mixture into prepared tray and smooth with cup. Bake for 15 mins or until cooked.

Icing:

Utensils:

  • Glass jug
  • Spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups icing sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cocoa
  • 3 tbsp. boiling water

Method:

  1. Add icing sugar and cocoa to the glass jug. Add water and stir well.
  2. Ice slice while still hot. Allow to cool and cut into pieces.

Tip:

Use a smooth glass cup to evenly spread base in tray
