Confetti Swirl Cookies

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to our second instalment of party edition I hope you will enjoy this funky and colourful biscuits as much as all the little ones did. These tasty cookies are the modern inytake of fairy bread and are absolutely loved by everyone.

Utensils:

  • Baking tray
  • Baking paper
  • Spatula
  • Mix Master
  • Spoon

Ingredients:

  • 125g margarine, softened
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • Red food colouring
  • Sprinkles, to decorate
  • 100’s and 100’s, to decorate
  • 1 egg, whites only

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and line tray.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat to combine. Add flour gradually and stir until dough forms.
  3. Divide dough into 2 parts. Gradually add food dye to one half of the dough until it is tinted red.
  4. Roll out plain dough on a lightly floured surface. Repeat with red dough and carefully stack on top of plain dough. Use a sharp knife to trim the edges. Starting from one of the long ends, gently roll up to form a log.
  5. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Sprinkle baking tray evenly with sprinkles and 100’s and 100’s. Lightly brush the log with eggs whites and carefully roll in sprinkles and 100’s and 1000’s.
  6. Use a sharp knife to cut the log into 5mm thick slices. Placed on the lined tray. Bake for 15 mins or until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
