Super Simple Shortbread

Scrumptious….

Hello Again,

These super tasty cookies struck quite a debate after I made them, and the question was simple sugar on top or no sugar on top. If you have tried them out tell us what you think in the comments below.

Enjoy!

Utensils:

  • Spatula
  • Cookies cutters
  • Measuring cups
  • Scales
  • Baking trays
  • Baking Paper
  • Master

Ingredients:

  • 250g Butter
  • ½ cup caster sugar
  • 3 cups plain flour

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C and line baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar in mix master. Reduce the speed of the mixer and gradually add the flour mix until well combined.
  3. Turn the mixture onto a lightly floured bench form it into a ball. Split the dough in half. Roll one half of the dough until it’s approximately 5mm thick and cut biscuits using cutters. Put the cut onto the prepared baking trays and sprinkle with sugar (optional).     Re-roll the excess dough and repeat until you’ve used all the dough including the other half of the dough
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden in colour. Remove the shortbread from the oven and allow to cool on the baking trays for 15 minutes or until completely cooled.
