Hello All,
This is super yummy and could be used for a dessert or even just a morning or afternoon tea snack.
Enjoy!
Utensils:
- Slice tray
- Baking paper
- Mix master
- Measuring cups
- Saucepan
- Spatula
- Glass cup
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cups plain flour
- 1 ½ cups rolled oats
- 185g butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups dried pitted dates
- 1 cup water
- ½ tsp baking soda
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and line slice tray.
- Add dates and water to a saucepan and cook on medium heat until the dates have soaked up all water. Allow the dates to cool to room temperature after they have cooked.
- Cream butter and sugar in the mix master. Add baking soda and plain flour.
- Remove mixture from Mixmaster and combine the rolled oats (I found it easier to combine with my hands).
- Split the mixture in half and spread half into the slice tray.
Tip the date mixture on top of the base and spread evenly. Crumble the remaining mixture over the dates.
