Welcome to our second soup recipe. This super yummy soup takes a while to prepare but is super delicious.

Utensils:
- Large Saucepan
- Measuring cups
- Chef’s knife
- Cutting board
- Garlic crusher
Ingredients:
- 500g Green Split Peas
- Small Smoked Bacon Hock
- 1 large onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 large carrots
- 4 celery sticks
- 8 cups water
- 1 tblsp olive oil
Method:
- Prepare split peas according to on-pack instructions.
- Dice onion and crush garlic then add to saucepan. Chop carrot and celery and set aside.
- Fry off onion, garlic and oil in a large saucepan. Add all remaining ingredients, cover saucepan with lid and cook on low for approximately 2 hours or until thickened, stirring regularly.
- Remove the hock from the saucepan and remove skin and fat. Shred ham and set aside.
Place shredded ham back into the saucepan and stir to combine.
